Parkinsons UK: North Walsham & Aylsham Support Group
Meet the Team
Change Attitudes, Find a Cure, Join Us
The North Walsham and Aylsham Group is entirely run by volunteers. We'd like to introduce ourselves...
Andy Harding is our new group co-ordinator following the retirement of Terry Nokes who had faithfully served the group for many years.
Andy was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2014 and in 2019 retired early from his job as a marketing director for a Japanese electronics company. He's now applying the skills he learnt there for the benefit of the local Parkinson's support group.
Sam Nokes is responsible for co-ordinating all our fund raising initiatives which this year have included car boot sales, garden parties and participation in a number of summer fayres throughout the region.
Dave Thorne is our research co-ordinator and ensures we keep everyone updated on latest developments. He also is an avid car boot salesman and has raised close to £1000 in 2019 for the benefit of the support group!
Terry Nokes has been Chairman of the Support Group for several years and invested a huge amount of his personal time in organising the speaking rota and attending publicity events during the summer months.. He is standing down from this role in 2020 but remains deeply involved with the group and we appreciate this very much.
Vicki Nokes has been doing an amazing job looking after our financial accounts to ensure everything is transparent and that we use our resources efficiently. She will be standing down in early 2020 to look after her growing family. So we need a new treasurer.
